Righteous Waves: South Bay Redondo Beach Hermosa Beach Los Angeles beach dub reggae locals Righteous Wave Movement, or better known as Righteous Waves, have been playing shows, backyard parties, and festivals since 2011, but their roots go as deep as 2001 when founding members Kian and Anoosh started playing live music in Santa Monica in their early adolescents. Ed joined the band as a bassist/sound engineer 10yrs ago not only elevating the musicianship of members but also giving them the ability to record their own album and put on shows with the their own sound system. Jordi, joining the band soon after Ed’s introduction, added vocal harmonies to their sound for the first time and also helped produce their first album, writing lyrics to unfinished songs and provided huge support to the album’s release. Jun being the freshest addition to the musical family, adds silky smooth drumming with a powerhouse of beats and fills to keep up with the reggae/ska/funk sounds Righteous Waves produce. He not only fits in perfectly, but tends to elevate the music to its higher potential. With an eclectic array in musical inspirations, Righteous Waves blends their lovers rock dub reggae smoothie from Jack Johnson, Bob Marley and the Wailers, Peter Tosh, Yellowman, J Boog, Led Zeppelin, Weezer, Ease Up, Pepper, The Strokes, Arctic Monkeys, Big L, B.B. King, Bad Brains, Barrington Levy, Tupac, Santana, and Sublime.
