Clayton Joseph Scott
Clayton Joseph Scott
The Clayton Joseph Scott project began in a studio on Electric Avenue in Venice Beach, CA.

Influenced by singer/songwriter legends such as Bob Dylan, Paul Simon, and Bob Marley, Clayton steps in the path of modern roots/rock performers, like the great Michael Franti to deliver a positive message, while invigorating audiences of all cultures to dance with a purpose.

Inspired to start a music project that would create exciting and uplifting music that people could dance to, Clayton began composing songs with a groove and a positive message.

In 2011, Clayton joined up with the music collective/record-label LuFamPro, whose Los Angeles based events helped spring board his ever-expanding following and dedicated audience.

A chance meeting with local guitarist/producer Konscious Krieger proved to be a fertile partnership in developing the CJS sound.

Together they formed what is now the Clayton Joseph Scott Band (CJS Band), consisting of Austin Nicholsen on bass, Josh Heffernan on drums, Will Phillips, percussion, and Steve Aguilar on keys.

Soon after, the CJS Band dove deep into the recording process at Konscious Studios in Santa Monica, CA and birthed a 13-song debut full-length album entitled, "More Love," featuring and array of feel-good roots/rock anthems such as, "On My Way" a dedication to music mentor Paul Simon; "Love Fool" which is Clayton's ballot, and fool-hearted story of falling in love, to dance favorite "Tambourine" lead by a sexy sultry bass line reminiscent of the 70's disco era, with a funk twist.

The album's entire body of work takes the listener on a journey, and one can't help but play the entire CD all the way through. Even the first track, "Ready To Fly" prepares you for this epic adventure of lyrical enchantment. Supported by his band of brothers, their musical accompaniment provides the lift beneath a listeners wings as one coasts through this soul centered experience in which Clayton acts as pilot reminding all passengers aboard the ever important power of the human spirit.

After a long performance hiatus the CJS band stormed onto the California festival scene with a dynamic and memorable performance at Lightning in a Bottle in May 2012.

Currently the CJS Band is hard at work promoting the "More Love" album opening for acts such as Nikka Costa and playing venues up and down the US west coast.
